By sea on normal boat it will take more than 24 hours and by air it will take just 45 minutes. It will cost you around USD 180.00 or slightly less for a return ticket to Laamu.
If you fly to Laamu then you have to hire a speed launch or a boat to go the islands which sell Dry Maldive fish.
The island Maavah is a bit far, but this island produces large amount of Dry Fish, Apart from this other islands like Maamendhoo, Dhanbidhoo and Mundoo also make Dry Fish, but not on a large scale as Maavah.
